I love to discover new brands, especially those that are natural and have an amazing brand story. About a year ago, I attended a beauty tradeshow where I received a ton of products and forgot about them all. I recently found the bag of products while cleaning, and Stewart & Claire lip balms were the first products I tried.
The brand’s co-founder Kristin Donnelly, developed this line of organic, all-natural lip balms while drinking martinis, and thinking about the idea of missing cocktails is very similar to mixing the ingredients to create a lip balm. She also considered that many lip balms have a sweet, girly scent, and wanted to create an option that was a little bit more “grown up.” For those who don’t drink or like the idea of a having a drink-flavored lip balm, there’s non-alcoholic, but sophisticated, flavored options, as well as an option which has no added scent at all. The balms are made with organic oils and butters as well as essential oils.
I love how nourishing the balm makes my lips feel, and it also makes me feel good to know that I’m not putting any chemicals on my lips. Everything that touches your lips, enters your mouth at some point, and many lip balms are filled with chemicals. Stewart & Claire clearly lists all of their product ingredients on their website, and they are all easy to pronounce (my rule is, if I can’t pronounce it, it’s probably not natural).
The name, by the way is a combination of her and her husband’s, co-founder Phil Cooper, middle name.
