I recently tested out three lip products from Kevyn Aucoin Beauty, and am now completed obsessed with all the lip products in this makeup line. Founded by the late make-up artist and visionary Kevyn Aucoin, the cosmetics line offers the everyday woman products to achieve glamorous looks with high-performance formulas. Below are the swatches of the three lip colors I tried.

Kevyn Aucoin The Expert Lip Color

Color Tested: Thelmadora

Formula: This product has an ultra-moisturizing formula, proven to repair damaged lips. In the picture below I didn’t apply lip balm before using the product, nor did I top it off with gloss, and you can see how hydrated my lips look. The creamy product glides on effortlessly.

Packaging: A sleek black and burgundy square tube holds the contents of lip color perfection.

Why I like it: The perfect natural lip hue, Thelmadora is a rosy nude shade with a slight golden tint that isn’t too overpowering. Yet, its minimalist nature is somehow able to be bold on the lips, and gives the illusion of a fuller pout.

Kevyn Aucoin The Matte Lip Color

Color Tested: Relentless

Formula: Velvety-smooth, this lipstick contains ingredients that aim to soften lips and minimize wrinkles.

Packaging: A long tube with a magnetic component unravels to reveal the luminous color housed inside.

Why I like it: It applies so smoothly and lasts all day. The color is heavily-pigmented, with a nice matte finish.

Cost: $33.00 at Neiman Marcus

Kevyn Aucoin The Lip Gloss

Color Tested: Hydraa

Formula: A non-sickly formula made up of vitamins extracted from sunflower seed oil, castor oil and lanolin oil.

Packaging: The products is able to glide on easily and precisely with the help of a u-shaped sponge tip applicator attached to the cap. The rectangular shape is a nice change from traditional cylindrical glosses.

Why I like it: It’s a great shade that looks great during the day, especially when the light hits the color and shows off the shimmer particles; but, it also transfers into the night easily and is a perfect night-out-on-the-town gloss.
