Nail polish brand, ORLY, has teamed up with MuslimGirl.com, a lifestyle website for Muslim women, to on a collection of nail polishes. The collection, #HalalPaint, features six colors that are made from 100 percent halal ingredients.
Muslims perform a washing ritual called wudhu before prayers, which includes washing hands and arms, up to the elbow. Some Muslim women don’t wear nail polish since it prevents water from reaching their nails. The limited-edition ORLY polishes are permeable to water and air, and features a reported “breathable” technology that “makes it possible for both oxygen and water to pass through the layer of paint on a molecular level,” according to The Huffington Post.
#HalalPaint’s polishes were given cutesy names that American Muslim women would recognize such as “What the Fatima?”, “Ig-Noor the Haters,” and “The Perfect Amani-cure.”
The collection retails for $49 and can be ordered here.
