This year at the Fragrance Foundation’s FiFI Awards, held at The Tent at Lincoln Center on May 25 in New York City, celebrity females opted for light, barely-there makeup, a trend we saw emerge on the runway during the Spring 2011 Fashion Week. Below you will find some tips on how you too can copy their flawless natural makeup look.
First, it’s important you start with a freshly cleaned face that has been moisturized. After you moisturizer sets in, prep your skin with primer and now your canvas is ready to begin painting.
Halley Berry
To get Halley’s makeup look, use a sponge to apply a liquid foundation with light reflecting particles all over the face to get the same dewy and glowing look. Cover imperfections with concealer only where you need it, and then set your makeup with finishing powder.
Line the inner rim of your eyes with a dark brown or black pencil and apply several coats of mascara. Fill in your eyebrows if you need to. Choose a champagne or light gold eye shadow such as Stilla’s eye shadow trio: champagne glow.
Apply blush to the apples of the cheeks – Bare Radiance by bareMinerals is a perfect amber-nude color with a hit of shimmer that is perfect for this look. Then, use a highlighter or bronzer and apply it to the areas of the face that the light will naturally hit such as the top of the forehead, bridge of the nose, temples, chin and cheekbones. Also use a tiny bit of the highlighter on top of the cupid’s bow on the lip.
Finish the look with your favorite nude shade of lipstick. Choose a nude shade such as Revlon Lipstick in Just Enough buff. It’s a soft peach nude color, modeled by Halley is one of her ads for Revlon.
Fergie
Fergie looked radiant on the red carpet at the FiFl Awards and her makeup was flawless, but not overdone. Before trying to copy her makeup, make sure you get your eyebrows shaped, as it is an important feature to frame your face for this look. Use a clear mascara want to comb out your eyebrows and use a pencil to fill in your browns with light, feathery stokes in the direction of hair growth. Set your brows with a small amount of brow wax or gel, such as Amazing Cosmetics Brow Gel to keep them in place.
Next, apply tinted moisturizer all over your face. Then, just as with Halley’s look, use a highlighter to bring out the features in your face the natural light would normally hit.
Line the upper lid of your eyes with black eyeliner and apply a few coats of mascara.
Suck in your face or make a “fish face” and sweep blush along the cheeks in an upward motion towards the temples.
Paint you pout with a shimmery golden-pink lipstick such as Yves Saint Laurent ‘Rouge Pur’ Lipstick SPF 8 in Golden Melon.
Its hard to pay attention to her makeup when her dress is so loud. she is gorgeous.
