This month ushered in my favorite time of year – Bridal Market Week in New York City and The Knot Bridal Show was my go to for all the festivities. This year The Knot had two locations: Metropolitan West and the Metropolitan Pavilion.

I first visited Metropolitan West, which hosted many of the high-end labels in a small and intimate setting. Ebru Sanci Bridal was one of my favorites and displayed ball gowns for the modern bride who wants to feel like a princess. Sasshi London modeled a gown abound with colors of the rainbow on the bodice which looked like vines, and Svetlana Bridal Couture, listed as one of The Knot’s best, shared one-of-a-kind designs made with intricate lace details.

The big showroom at the Metropolitan Pavilion was sparkling with model brides flawlessly showing off beautiful works by designers. Enzoani’s collection drew my attention because it conveyed elegance in simplicity with a lot of soft designs, perfect for the very simple bride, who wants subtle touches for her wedding. Watters also caught my eye because the brand has a design for every bride – modern, glamorous, boho chic, and traditional.

Another trend I noticed this year were trains…not the form of transportation used my millions across the world to get around, but the part of a brides gown that is the center of attention at a wedding ceremony. Svetlana Bridal Couture, Amare Couture Bridal and Ashton Brands which carries Cristinao Lucci, and J’adore, among others, had gorgeous trains that would be very eye-pleasing to the wedding attendee crowd.

Outside of The Knot’s Bridal Show, I was able to attend the viewing of an Israeli bridal designer Limor Ben Yosef. What I enjoyed about this designer was the sparkle in many of her gowns. What bride does not want a little sparkle on her day? Okay maybe not a little, but a lot of sparkle! Limor Ben Yosef provides that not too loud, but elegant source of bling. It was a very intimate setting, with a very gracious designer making her debut in New York City.

Finally, this year, two major Bridal Houses were celebrating 20 years of helping brides say I do: Casablanca Bridal and my all-time favorite Maggie Sottero. Congratulations!!!
