
CoverGirl has announced that Muslim beauty vlogger Nura Afia will be its latest brand ambassador and the face of its new So Lashy! BlastPro Mascara. She is one of the first hijab-wearing woman to star in a nationwide campaign for a mainstream cosmetics brand in the US. The campaign, which aims to promote inclusive beauty, will use the hashtag #LashEquality.
The announcement is on the heels of L’Oréal’s choice to feature Amena Kin in its True Match foundation campaign in the UK. Similra to Nura, Amena also wears hijab. To view her TrueMatch campaign, click here.
