Last week I attended Beauty2, a new tradeshow that showcases some amazing new brands that are hoping to be added to your beauty routine. One of the brands that stood out to me is Revival Body Care. The founder, Nicole, created the line of body and hair care products using natural ingredients and essential oils, with the idea of providing a more holistic approach to beauty care. The line is free of chemicals and toxics, vegan, cruelty-free and contains organic and fair trade ingredients.

I was excited to be given the opportunity to select a product from the line to sample and I chose the GODDESS CLAY MASK-CALM ($19), because first, it’s pink, and second it contains hibiscus, which is known as a natural “botox” for the skin. The mask also includes other skin-caring ingredients, including rose clay (a natural exfoliator), aloe vera (known for its skin healing properties) and chamomile (for calming irritated skin). The combination of the soothing blend aims to provide you with smooth, even-toned glowing skin.

The mask can be mixed with any liquid of your choosing such as water, yogurt, honey and aloe, and a little goes bit a long way. For the picture on the left, I just added water to the powder to form a paste in the palm of my hand. The product, by the way, had a very light, almost undetectable floral scent.

It was fun to watch the clay transform from its wet mud-like rose color to light pink as it dried and hardened around the contours of my face.

I left it on for about 10-15, which was probably way too long because after a while the oil in my pores started penetrating through the clay letting me know it was time to rinse it off. After I towel-dried my skin, it immediately looked clean, smooth and radiant.

What I liked the most about the Goddess Clay Mask is the fact that it is all-natural, and let’s face it (no pun intended), if you put on a mask that has the potential to penetrate your pores, why would you not want to use something toxin-free and filled with nature’s best skin health resources?
