Upon entering Sunday’s nail salon, I noticed one main thing: no odor. There wasn’t any trace of lingering chemical fumes from nail products, which are known to cause respiratory problems, headaches and more. Instead, I inhaled clean air and fresh wood in the NoMad Manhattan studio, which seamlessly combines nail treatments with wellness in a space inspired by Danish decor. In fact, outside of its non-toxic nail services, the salon offers several lifestyle events including book clubs, guided mediation and a speaker series. How refreshing for a nail salon!

The staff was incredibly friendly and I was impressed that the nail technicians catered to my every need from offering me a beverage and light snacks when I arrived, to making sure I was seated in a comfortable chair. I have never been treated like this in my neighborhood salon!

I began my time there with a pedicure, which felt like heaven to my feet. Everything about the experience, from the scents of the lotions used, the sea salt soak, and the massage, were just heavenly. I also loved the uplifting and positive books available to read during my pedicure. There was a wide variety of colors to choose from, too.

Next, I got a manicure, which was made extra special with the rose petals and lemon water my fingers were soaked in.

No dryers were used, but that added to the peaceful atmosphere. I enjoyed the smoothing music while I waited for my nails to dry (the dry time was 10 minutes, a perk of the salon’s products). The cherry on top was the three-minute massage after my manicure was complete.

There are many things to love about Sunday’s salon and services, most notably, the ability to breathe easy, fully relax and enjoy the experience in a clean, non-toxic environment. I was surprised that the owner of the salon, Amy Ling Lin, handled my checkout and even took the time to get to know me, and talk to me about the salon.

I purchased my services from Gilt City, but I was so impressed and beyond pleased with the quality of my services, that I will be back again soon as a regular customer.
