Leanne Marshall’s Autumn/Winter 2017 collection featured stunning gowns inspired by medieval times. The medieval theme was even prevalent with the hair styling of the models, who donned low ponytails that were draped with gathered to create a “Rapunzal” effect.
Gowns and separates in the collection featured intricate beading, plunging necklines, thigh high slits and plenty of softy flowing silks and chiffons. The colors of the pieces were muted with hues of champagne, mauves, gold, blacks and whites. However, the collection wasn’t void of color, as bright pops of red and prints flashed through the subdued designs on the runway.
Noteworthy, the designer created a majority of the collection from remnant fabrics from her atelier in an effort to minimize the waste and the impact the fashion industry has on the environment.
