On September 9th, I attended the Spring/Summer Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week runway show of Kati Stern Venexiana, known as the go-to fashion house for rock-n-roll haute couture. As the last show of Saturday night, the presentation did not disappoint. Fifty-seven gorgeous evening gowns graced the runway, captivating the audience with a show of freely flowing fabrics and intricate crystal detailing. The collection itself is a unique juxtaposition – gowns featuring billowing chiffon and taffeta contrasted greatly with bold metallic and pieces featuring open-backs and deep, plunging necklines.
Prints were scarce, but crystals were in abundance with this collection, so these gowns are not for the woman who doesn’t want to be a glittering showstopper.
Although, black was prominent, the color scheme nicely incorporated soft, feminine pastels with a pallet of yellow, aqua, turquoise, yellow, mint green, pink and lilac.
Launched in 2003 by designer Kati Stern, the collection is sold at high-end retailers around the world including Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus.
