You don’t have to be Angelina Jolie to get that full, luscious pout. Heck, it’s about as simple as acing simple makeup tricks to make your lips look fuller without having to go through the trouble of going under the needle.
Shimmery highlighter
You use a highlighter to add contours to your face. So use a highlighter to add fullness to your lips. Dab a tiny amount on your ring finger and pat it on the skin right above your cupid’s bow and another dot right at the center of your lip. Blend it in with your lipstick with your finger. The light reflecting on your lips make them appear plump.
Make your lips pop with beige eyeshadow
Beige eyeshadow sure does make your eyes pop, but it does the same for your lips as well. Lightly brush a fine coating of beige eyeshadow along the edge of your upper lip. This will not only bring out the color of your lipstick, but will also give your lips a plumper appearance.
Champagne highlighter pencil
Use a champagne colored lip highlighter pencil and draw a fine line alone your upper lip starting from your cupid’s bow to the corners of your mouth. Blend it in with your finger so that the highlighter pencil merges with your lipstick well.
Lip liner
I always insist on women applying lip liner when using darker shades of lipstick for two reasons:
One- lip liner keeps your lipstick from bleeding.
Two- it makes your lips look fuller.
It’s simple, really. If you’re a first timer, line your lips with tiny dots. Next, using the lip liner, connect these dots to line your lips. Use your ring finger to smudge the line to make it look less artificial. Fill in with the lipstick of your choice, blot and you’re good to go!
Sheer lip gloss
A great way to make your lips look plump is by coating them in clear lip gloss. The sheer lip gloss enhances the fullness of your lips, making them look soft and pillowy. Apply a generous coat of gloss to your lips for a fuller effect. ELF Glossy Gloss (pictured) is a personal favorite, but really, feel free to experiment and find one you like the most.
Exfoliate your lips
Exfoliate your lips with a soft-bristle toothbrush. Rub the bristles against your lips to slough away the dead skin. This sloughs away dead skin and smoothens out the skin below, plumping the lips. Once you’re done exfoliating your lips with a toothbrush, use a moisturizing lip balm to keep them soft and supple.
The thing about makeup is that you needn’t take drastic steps to look and feel good. Once you start applying makeup, you learn a few tricks about highlighting your features and working it to accentuate them in the best way possible. And if it’s soft, plump, pouty lips that you shall crave, then it’s soft, plump, pouty lips that you shall have!
