Designer Spotlight: Barbara Campbell

Designer Barbara Campbell at her jewelry trunk show at Bloomingdale's SoHo in New York City.

This weekend I had the opportunity to stop by Bloomingdales in SoHo to check out the Black and Gold Jewelry Collection of Brooklyn-based designer Barbara Campbell.

Whether your style is edgy, chic, or sophisticated, there is something in this collection for you, which consists of handmade jewelry of vintage buttons, mixed-metal, leather, gold-filled and semi-precious stone.

Launched in fall 2007, each piece is carefully hand-crafted by Campbell, who became inspired to start producing her own line after her mother-in-law handed her natural rocks from the beaches of Montauk, and encouraged her to start designing.

Most noteworthy, nothing in the jewelry line is mass-produced, so you can be rest-assured that you will be the owner of a one-of-a-kind piece.
