Nail Art: CND for Libertine S/S 2017

CND created 25 jaw-dropping nail designs for the Libertine Spring/Summer 2017 runway show during New York Fashion Week, which took place at Skylight Clarkson Sq. Inspired by Libertine’s punk rock collection, the nails evoked the 1970s and ‘80s, but also had an unusual twist of Victorian and new wave elements.

CND artists put in nearly 300 combined hours to create the one-of-a-kind handcrafted nail looks, which feature the Spring 2017 CND SHELLAC Brand 14+ Day Nail Color and VINYLUX Weekly Polish shades. Although the pallet featured vibrant colors, it was grounded with accents of black and white.

Nails showcased hand-painted portraits of Victorian royalty, American figureheads and even Libertine’s Johnson Hartig. The nails of some models were embellished with seed beads, graphic 3D shingles, neon studs, tassels and golden chains, while others rocked nails with the words “Chic as Hell,” mirroring a pair of hot pink leggings from the Libertine collection. There were even nails that were reminiscent of oversized fuzzy slippers. Each model wore a completely different look on each hand. Take a look at some of the nail designs below.
